Halo 4 is the 8th installment in the Halo series (and the third Halo game not made by Bungie). It was first announced on June 7, 2011, at E3 2011. On September 26, 2012, it was announced that the games developement cycle was complete, and the game is set for a worldwide release on November 6, 2012.

5 years after the end of Halo 3, Chief and Cortana end up un a Forerunner planet called Requiem, where an ancient hatred against humanity is unleashed.
